Art as Intervention:
Can art help build a better future for Palestinians?
P21 Gallery – 26th August 2015
Hosted by Gaze on Gaza, this event explored a range of artistic and imaginative strategies which address conflict and occupation; and how art can be created and shared within these conditions. Contributors included: Selma Dabbagh – writer and author of ‘Out of It,’ Miranda Pennell – filmmaker and member of Artists for Palestine UK, Kareem Samara – musician and composer, Aimee Shalan – co-director of Pressure Cooker Arts and James Walmsley – curator. Co-hosts Talkaoke invited the audience to take an active role in the discussion and share their views and ideas.
