Welcome to Talkaoke – a live free-form talk show where you, the participants, decide on the direction of the conversation. If you have things to say, would like to hear the latest ideas and opinions, learn some podcast hosting skills – this is a session for you!

Talkaoke is a live, television-style talk show by The People Speak art collective from East London. For 26 years Talkaoke has been popping up at festivals, clubs, galleries, and street corners, giving people a platform to speak, listen and be heard. Talkaoke is also a unique way to hear the latest ideas people are talking about and to discover new ones together. For us, the conversation is a creative medium and a journey from one unexpected subject to another. It can be topical, funny, deep, surreal, or something else. The format is simple: the host sits in the middle of an illuminated round table, and you sit around the outside and talk about whatever comes up. Just grab the microphone and air your views. We have been using our free-form style of Talkaoke to create podcasts and encourage others to make their own. In this special In The Neighbourhood Talkaoke session we will give you the tools and space to explore your podcast idea and unique hosting style!
