You are invited to join Talkaoke – our pop up talk show at the following locations: \nAveley  \nDate: 14th August 2024 \nTimes: 12pm – 4pm \nLocation: Aveley Recreational Ground\, High Street\, Aveley\, Essex\, RM15 4BX \n  \nCorringham \nDate: 19th August 2024 \nTimes: 12pm – 4pm \nLocation: Corringham Park\, Gordon Road\, Corringham\, Stanford-Le-Hope\, SS17 7QZ \n  \nSouth Ockendon  \nDate: 28th August 2024 \nTimes: 12pm – 4pm \nLocation: Dilkes Park\, Fairham Avenue\, South Ockendon\, RM15 5NN \n\nAll of these are outdoors to make the most of the wonderful summer weather!\n\n\nWhat is Talkaoke?\nTalkaoke is an interactive talk-show\, where you decide on the subjects. Just grab the mic and have your say! Each discussion is a journey from one unexpected subject to another: it can be topical\, funny\, deep\, surreal\, and everything in between. The format is simple: the Talkaoke host sits in the middle of a doughnut-shaped table and passes the mic around\, inviting contributions and comments from each participant. Talkaoke host stimulates the collective imagination of the participants by expertly linking themes and opposing points of the conversation. Talkaoke is a great way to hear the latest ideas people are excited about and creatively develop new ones. \nAbout Start Thurrock \nWe have a vision where more people in Thurrock can enjoy and participate in arts and cultural activity in their local area. We all have a story to tell\, and a part to play. We want to give every person in Thurrock the chance and space to express themselves\, and enjoy that feeling\, together. We want our spaces to express our cultures. Our towns to be more connected and creative.
