DESCRIPTION:This month’s Aberfeldy Live! Talkaoke event will be a take over from the participants of a creative facilitation\, podcasting and media training project for young adults in collaboration with Tower Hamlets Recovery College. Join us in person or online for the interactive pop-up talkshow\, where you\, the participants\, set the agenda. Every month we report live from the streets of Poplar and further afield via Zoom about all the matters local and global. Watch this space for more information! \nAbout the course\nWe are excited to collaborate with Tower Hamlets Recovery College to bring a new bespoke course on podcasting – from developing ideas to pressing the ‘record’ button. We will use the Talkaoke – pop up talk show format as a springboard to practice facilitation and media skills. We will equip the participants in skills to engage in meaningful discourse with peers!  \nIn this 8-day course\, you will learn how to have constructive\, fruitful\, and insightful discussions\, where sharing like-minded and opposing views is welcomed and encouraged within this space.\n \nThis is a hands-on course and students will be encouraged to participate in using the technical equipment\, creating scripts and podcast plans\, familiarising themselves with various podcasts\, and having a go at live podcasting. The final session will be a public facing one\, where students will share some of the work developed during the course. \nHow does Talkaoke work?\nIt’s simple: the Talkaoke host sits in the middle of a round table and you\, the participants\, sit at small tables close by. Each table has a mic and you are invited to talk about anything they like. Each discussion is a journey from one unexpected subject to another: it can be topical\, funny\, deep\, surreal\, and everything in between. The conversation will be visualised live by a digital illustrator!
