SUMMARY:Talkaoke Live x The Essex Tour
DESCRIPTION:Between May and June Talkaoke is going on tour of Essex\, so keep your eyes peeled for the pink glowing table of chat in and around Colchester and Tendring. \nHow does Talkaoke work? \nIt’s simple! The Talkaoke host sits in the middle of a round table and you\, the participants\, sit around the outside. You are invited to talk about anything you like. Each discussion is a journey from one unexpected subject to another: it can be topical\, funny\, deep\, surreal\, and everything in between. The conversation will be visualised live by a digital illustrator! It’s a drop in – so feel free to stay for as long or as little as you can. \nWe are collaborating with St Helena Hospice and a number of grassroots organisations in Essex. St Helena provides specialist palliative and end of life care to local people facing incurable illness in north east Essex\, supporting them\, their families\, friends and carers. \nwww.sthelena.org.uk \n  \nTalkaoke Live in Essex – Programme\nSaturday 20th May\n10am – 12pm Talkaoke at One Colchester Hub\, 4-6 Long Wyre St\, CO1 1LH \n10am – 2pm Leaving Your Mark workshop by Textile Collective \n \n1pm – 4pm Talkaoke outdoors at Lion Walk Shopping Centre \nLeaving Your Mark art workshop with Kirsta McSkimming from Textile Collective \nA drawing/mark-making workshop based around and interpreting the idea of what we leave behind when we die. \nBy constructing a still life display using personal emotive items found in the home like picture frames\, clothing\, ornaments\, and books we will encourage and support participants to create drawings of the still life display using traditional drawing and mark-making techniques. \nUsing these type of techniques helps to create lively\, fresh and energetic drawings\, which is in stark contrast to the weighty\, static subject matter they are working with. \n  \nBank Holiday Monday 29th May\n11am – 4pm Talkaoke at Hospital Radio Fun Day\, at Lower Castle Park\, Colchester \nAdmission £5\, children go free \nHospital Radio has been in existence for almost 60 years\, and broadcast our services 24/7 to hospital patients across the Colchester area.
