The festival marks the 75th anniversary of the Basic Law (German: Grundgesetz), which became the constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany, initiating the German reunification process. You can read more about the historical significance of this event here.

This year’s theme of Kesselbrink spielt! festival is “Families celebrate democracy”. Visitors can expect a varied program of exercise, games and fun activities, such as Kesselkick, mobile play areas, basketball and boules, all taking place on the Kasselbrink square in the centre of Bielefeld!
