Join our special Aberfeldy Stories Talkaoke pop up talk show, where everybody is welcome to join the table of chat and contribute their perspectives! This special Talkaoke is accompanied by a song-writing workshop with a local musician, composer and singer – songwriter Jo Elise. We are constantly surrounded by sounds on the street, at home, in the park, on the commute to work. Our favourite songs can make us feel strong emotions, help coping with difficult situations or help celebrate successes. We will explore how to tell our stories through songs. Bring your musical inspiration to the workshop and let’s create a soundtrack for our neighbourhood!
Talkaoke is The People Speak‘s flagship live, television-style talk show and a creative communication format. Talkaoke is non-hierarchical – it is up to the participants to decide on the topics. The conversation is a creative medium and a journey from one unexpected subject to another. It can be topical, funny, deep, surreal, or something else. The participants generate the subjects and the host in the middle keeps everybody engaged. The format is simple: the host sits in the middle of an illuminated round table, and you sit around the outside and talk about whatever comes up. Just grab the microphone and air your views.
Aberfeldy Stories is a project using our emergent approach, where we are inviting you to co-design the programme with us. We want to know about your interests, skills you’d like to develop, stories you’d like to tell and ways in which to tell them. Together we will work on creating a film, a podcast series, a book, a music video, a collection of short stories, a radio broadcast, an anthem, a comedy night, a theatre performance, a guided tour… Everything is possible!
