Welcome to Women’s History Month Special Talkaoke – an interactive pop-up talkshow, where you, the participants, set the agenda. We are joining Alternative Arts and The Women’s Network East London in the month long celebration of women of East London and the world.
THE WOMEN’S NETWORK East London is open to women across East London who are members of community, arts and cultural organisations, local women’s groups, and local women residents. The network is co-ordinated by Alternative Arts who also run Women’s History Month in East London. The aim to raise the profile of women, share ideas, explore current issues and build a strong network as a supportive resource, providing inspiration for creating a more equal society.
It’s simple: the Talkaoke host sits in the middle of a round table and you, the participants, sit at small tables close by. Each table has a mic and you are invited to talk about anything they like. Each discussion is a journey from one unexpected subject to another: it can be topical, funny, deep, surreal, and everything in between. The conversation will be visualised live by a digital illustrator! It’s a drop in – so feel free to stay for as long or as little as you can.
Come along to the Making Space, 48 Aberfeldy Street, London, E14 0NU.
If you are interested in learning our facilitations techniques and have a go hosting a Talkaoke – drop Margot & Mikey a line on info@thepeoplespeak.org.uk to have a chat about it.
Thank you to The Making Space for their in-kind support.
