You are invited to our biggest celebration event yet! It’s the 25th birthday of Talkaoke and quarter of a century worth of collaboration and connections that happened along the way. We would love to celebrate it with you! The evening will include your favourite talkshow, live music, DJ sets and… the first sharing of our latest international collaboration – Talkaoke Skills Lab – with artists from Uganda.

TALKAOKE: 5pm, 7pm
Talkaoke is a live, television-style talk show where you, the participants decide on the subjects! The format is simple: the host sits in the middle of an illuminated round table, and you sit around the outside and talk about whatever comes up. Just grab the microphone and air your views. You will come away with new creative ideas and connections with new people.
TALKAOKE SKILLS LAB SHARING: 5-7pm
Talkaoke Skills Lab is a unique artist development opportunity piloting a new approach to intercultural dialogue, collaboration and skills exchange by bringing together in a virtual and hybrid space artists, creatives, cultural practitioners and change-makers from Uganda and the UK. This part of the evening is fully designed and developed by the first Talkaoke Skills cohort. More info.

LIVE MUSIC: 8pm
Silva Neon are singer Marie Kühn and guitarist Jacob Müller based in Berlin. Their repertoire consists of dreamy jazz ballads, fresh Bossa Nova, Samba and Latin Jazz. Joined by a London based drummer Marcelo Vaz, they will play an energetic set with strong Brazilian influences.
DJ SET: 9PM
Mukul has been making strange and compelling sounds since the early 1990s, around East London (Ashwin Street, Blue Note, 93 Feet East…) and globally. He likes to mix records but has made music with other things that turn (radio telescopes, bicycles, food processors). He composes extensively for film, stage and installation, and most recently contributed to the Ryuichi Sakamoto / DumbType collaboration currently at the Venice Biennale and Haus Der Kunst, Munich.
Funki Porcini is artist and DJ James Braddell, whose swirling mixtures of downtempo breaks, smooth ambience, and disjointed drum’n’bass helped put the South London-based label on the map. The first single from his 1995 debut Hed Phone Sex, “Long Road” (with a B-side, “Poseathon,” littered with samples), was featured on a number of compilations cashing in on the fashionability of “trip-hop,” but Porcini’s brand of laid-back, atmospheric breakbeat is less gimmicky than that connection suggests.
